Rules Of Detoxing

When you decide to do a detox it's usually because  you feel the time has come to take care of your body. For some, they may be experiencing some health issue and don't want to take medications or have surgery to correct that problem.

One of the concerns I notice with folks who want to detox is that they don't want to stop the poor habits that caused the issues leading to them taking a detox. Some of those habits may be poor diet, drinking alcohol, coffee, sodas, lots of meat, or smoking. In some cases, it's a detox from medications that are damaging their kidneys and leaving chemicals in the blood stream. What ever the reason is, try to drop that habit for good or at least while detoxing.

Detoxing should happen multiple times a year and not only when you're sick or feeling uneasy. Even for folks who eat healthy or are vegetarians and vegans, they should detox as well. Plant based eaters also consume pesticides and chemicals on produce or take in environmental pollutants. We should clean our interior as well as our exterior.

When you make up your mind to do a detox follow these steps and I can ensure you that you will feel and see tremendous results.

1. Use alkaline herbs.

2. Find a good source of Alkaline spring water for flushing and diluting the toxins that will be leaving your body. There will be more than the usual toxins circulating in your blood stream and you will need plenty of water to help dilute and keep the stress off your organs. I suggest 1/2 to 1 gallon a day.

3. Stay away from fast food, processed food, sodas, coffee, dairy products and starchy foods like rice, bread and pastries etc. Also kick the meat to the side. A detox is for a set amount of days. You can kick bad habits to the side for that time if you are serious about your health and well being. It will be like a double detox if you can kick them while taking your herbs.

4. Try to drink your food, that means making smoothies. By drinking smoothies, you take even more stress off your digestive tract as your body will not have to spend time breaking food down, the blender will do that for you. This further increases the detox effects. Any meal that you eat, try to eat it between 1-4pm. This will give your system plenty of time to break that meal down before bed, preventing you from sleeping with food in your gut. 5. When detoxing, keep in mind that its a DETOXXXXX. you will experience changes and it is possible that you can get a little sick before you get better. That sick feeling could be the toxins in your blood stream getting ready to be released.  It's even more possible that you wont feel anything and you'll just see changes and feel so much better. But don't be afraid. Remember that herbs are a plant just like any other plant or herb you have in your cabinet.
